The perils of online advertising

Google AdSense is a terrific program. There are numerous stories of web builders making substantial money off websites that started as a simple idea. It is very easy to set up, and requires very little maintenance to keep running.

Recently I received an email from the AdSense team that said my account had been disabled. This came as a complete surprise to me, as I did not receive a warning email or notification that this was going to happen.

This is quite disappointing, not because I lose possible revenue from this blog, but because I can no longer take part in this program if I decide to start another website.

So this is a warning, to any other AdSense users, to read the AdSense Program Policies and make sure your website complies with the requirements. Don’t get caught like I did, and miss an opportunity to take part in this great program.

I will continue to post updates about my quest to get my account reinstated.

UPDATE: Excellent. Google is reevaluating my account.

We’re currently in the process of reviewing your account with the
additional information that you’ve provided. Please understand, however,
that there is no guarantee that your account will be reinstated into
AdSense. As a reminder, Google does reserve the right to disable an
account at any time, as stated in the AdSense Terms and Conditions
( ).

Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE2: You may have noticed, but I have been reinstated into the AdSense program! Hurray for appeals!
